THE PLOT

Some say it was to control the populace. Others say it was out of a sadistic need for other's suffering. Whatever theory you buy into, the result is the same. Her Imperious Condescension has ordered a sick competition. Every sweep, she selects 24 trolls (one or two of each blood caste and then four at random) and a handful of humans to be taken to a remote location where they wake up to find tight collars around their necks. There they are briefed by The Demoness. The game is simple.

All 24 trolls are given a bag with a random weapon, a few water bottles, and a change of clothing. In the next 96 hours, they must fight to death until only one person remains. The rewards are numerous -- wealth, fame, survival. If they refuse to comply, at the end of the four days, their collars will activate, triggering an explosion. If they try to escape by running away, their collars will explode. If they so much as bat their eyelashes the wrong way, Her Imperious Condescension will detonate the accessory herself.

So who are this sweeps lucky participants?

Given that death is inevitable in this game for many, the tricky part with Battle Royale roleplays is how do you actually determine who wins and who loses? Well, we've got an answer for that!

♠ First and foremost, NPCs (save The Handmaid and The Condesce) are able to be played by anyone. Their deaths do not need to be voted on, so long as they are believable and realistic. Your character probably isn't going to be able to kill off every NPC all at once. Okay, this is Homestuck, where murderous rampages are rampant, but it wouldn't be fun if everyone died right away!

To control this, we have set up two guidelines. In order to kill an NPC, your post detailing the fight must be 500 words. Why the requirement? The word count is easy to reach in an ongoing comment log between two characters, and a fight is not going to be able to be summarized in a couple hundred words. The second requirement is that if you want to kill more than two NPCs in a day, please contact a mod for approval to do so. We are MORE than happy to work with you on this given the characterization of these trolls, but we would appreciate the heads up. Besides, maybe the Condesce will even reward such a hard worker?

♠ The second method of death is a chosen death. If you're fine with your character dying/think they would die in a given situation, discuss it with the other mun and work it out! Murder isn't the only method of death in Battle Royale either, so if you have another idea for killing off your character, feel free. Deaths that happened in Battle Royale canon include suicide, accidents (did you fall on your crossbow? man, that sucks), and collars exploding to name a few.

If you'd like your collar to explode, let one of the mods know and that can be arranged since there are a few ways this can happen. In Battle Royale, they eliminate locations for each three days, forcing the participants closer and closer together. If a character doesn't leave the danger zone, their collar explodes. If they disobey orders, boom. If they try to escape the island/area, also boom.

♠ If players can't agree on who should die during a scene, that's perfectly fine! They are then responsible for putting the fight up to vote, and other players of the community will OOCly vote on who they believe should win the battle. This is strictly based on how the fight went and favoritism IC or OOC will NOT be tolerated. We will create an area to vote where comments will be screened. The majority choice will win. We will require a minimum of three votes before we will make a decision.

♠ Further questions can be PMed to this mod journal or messaged to Nevi or Seki directly.

Time for the fun part. The weapon list! )

Will they still have their canon powers?

Yes! They're still trolls and still from Alternia, so they will have their canon abilities. It's an interesting addition to the Battle Royale scenario, so it could be a lot of fun. Remember to ask permission if your powers will really affect another party (i.e. mind control).

Why are the kids here too?

Condesce has hand-picked a small group of kids to partake in the Battle Royale. This is in the interest of representing all intelligent species, and flaunting the power the Condesce has over all.

How does everyone arrive?

All characters will arrive in a very jam-jar fashion: they will be pulled from their homes via a mysterious force, and placed smack-dab in the middle of the opening ceremony. Characters will be aware of the competition beforehand; how exactly they know is up to the players!

Beta kids might have heard a rumor about kids disappearing to fight to the death or actually seen the news reports of the winner on TV. For alpha and troll kids, the Condesce has had reports spread throughout the galaxy. It's less likely you haven't heard of it than not!

Details as to what their state actually is upon waking will be supplied in the actual opening post.

What is the time ratio?

The time ratio is meant to be extremely extremely loose. The day posts will go up every two weeks, and you are welcome to forward and back date as you like. The only thing you can't do is forward date into the next day because of how our posting format works.

The game is set to last two months.

What IS the posting format?

The game will take place in 4-6 posts on the main community. This means you start threads within the appropriate post and the appropriate subthread!
